X-Tra light Straddle Carrier

Our new straddle carrier is the lightest of its type in the entire world. The new straddle carrier is a flexible handling facility for 20” – 52" containers and transports virtually all the standard ISO containers. It is employed as a flexible transportation vehicle in those places where companies want to rapidly, securely and cheaply transport or handle between 6 and 200 ISO containers per week in-plant on their company grounds or in their warehouses. Our system can be employed in those places where other systems can no longer operate. The handling costs for containers are considerable so it is important that you consider a cheaper and more economical solution for your company. Our system is more than 50% cheaper than conventional container stackers and heavy forklifts. The purchase costs for the existing clients are paid off in less than one financial year. The axle loads are also much less than the loads of a comparable container and the vehicle can be used when the ground conditions are poor thanks to the super-elastic tyres.

The flexible and X-tra light straddle carrier consists of a robust rack and is equipped with a chassis with 4 big dimensioned super-elastic wheels. The roller guided lifting chains will be initially connected with the container and is locked into place. The hydraulic lift cylinders are attached to safety chains and responsible for raising respectively lowering the ISO-containers. The raised container can now be detached from the lorry and subsequently be securely transported on your grounds. The system has a hydrostatic travel drive and can be operated with great ease. The ergonomic driver’s cab is comfortable, offers outstanding visibility and has all the necessary logical operating elements. The driver´s cab is close positioned to the roadway and serves the driver as easy boarding and alighting point. The advantages of this new system are clear for all to see.
